The myth of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the devil,
at a crossroads in Mississippi in order to become
King of the Delta Blues
is quite a powerful one!
You would think God would say:
Hey, you don't have to sell your soul
just give your soul to me and
I'll do the job even better!
No such luck, right?
Seems to me,
AND I COULD BE WRONG,
but it seems to me if God was doing His 'job' right
(pun intended)
NOBODY would ever consider
selling his or her soul
It's because God is APPARENTLY
too busy to give a shit
that people sell their souls to the devil
I may get in trouble for writing this, but I say
it's to God's shame that ANYONE would even consider
selling their souls to the devil
I say it's a sign that God's creation deserves more
than to be so bereft of God's blessings
they would ever even consider
doing such a thing
Then again if God was doing His job right
Satan would be out of a job
and on unemployment
Considering how long Satan had been working
Maybe God just doesn't want to pay out the money
Well, I would hope that at the very least
Robert Johnson finally has a steady gig
playing the blues in hell
What better place to play the blues, right?
